Boat engines are limited to 4hp and a speed limit of 4mph is in force. Permission to launch any boat must be granted by the landowner.
(This applies to all boats apart from the Venachar Sailing Club rescue boats)
IMPORTANT NOTICE - 28 October 2025
PLEASE ENSURE YOU DO NOT LEAVE ANY HOOKS OR RODS UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME!
It has been reported that an angler left baited hooks when fishing the shore at the farm (where fishing is prohibited!).
A farm dog unfortunately swallowed the baited hook and sadly had to be put down as a result.
Any irresponsible behaviour by anglers at Loch Venachar is unacceptable and will be reported to authorities whenever possible and the culprit will face a life long ban from fishing the loch.
While most anglers are behaving reponsbile, such events are not isolated.
